Zimbabwe Care Leavers Network (ZiCLAN) is a Registered Private Voluntary Organization (PVO) – PVO 98/20 with the Department of Social Development (DSD) within the Ministry of Public Service, Labor and Social Welfare.
What we do
We strive to assist and nurture children in alternative care and care-leavers to be self sustaining and successful within the community.
how we help
By supporting children in alternative care and care leavers through skills training, mentorship talks, career guidance, counselling, psycho-social support, social skills, and entrepreneurship skills among other life skills.
Our Realities
There is little or no after care support services for care leavers to support themselves when they leave care
There is inadequate government support towards care leavers.
Care Leavers face challenges in Accommodation, Education, Empowerment, Employment and Health and Well-Being
Children in alternative care and care leavers need life skills in order to have better outcomes.
Leaving Care is a process not an Event. It includes Preparation, Transition and After Care Support
Love and support does not end at the Age of 18 or below but considers Stage
Alternative Care requires a multi- sectoral approach to yield better outcomes.
